I was first licensed, Technician Class, in 2008. I upgraded to Extra Class in 2009. I still have a great deal to learn and enjoy the hobby very much.
I am a member of the Delaware Lehigh Valley Amateur Radio Club ( www.dlarc.org ), Lehigh Valley Amateur Radio Club ( www.w3oi.org) , ARRL, and I am an ARRL Volunteer Examiner.
I enjoy contesting and frequently operate from the DLARC club station (also known as the "Milk House").
My home station is modest, and like many amateurs, my antenna choices are limited by space. My primary antenna is a multi-band Hi-Q Loop (40m – 15m). I also use a 15m/20m shortened dipole. My rigs are a Flex-Radio Flex 3000 and a Ten-Tec Jupiter.
When not operating contests most of my operating activity is PSK31 on 40 or 20 meters.
I moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania from San Francisco, California in 1999. Allentown is approximately 80 miles (130 kilometers) west of New York City, near the Appalachian and Pocono mountains.
