I'm a 3rd generation ham thanks to my grandfather, Ron WA8OOH, and my father, Shanon KA8SPW. We're all involved in RACES/ARES/Skywarn though I've taken to the Skywarn part pretty hard, fueled by my passion for severe weather.
When not programming in Ruby on Rails or Python, I'm reading weather models, forecasting textbooks, and creating new tools to help in severe weather prediction and chasing.
Aside from all that I've also produced electronic music, studied solar-astrophysics, astronomy, ancient civilizations and political philosophy.
And I'm a die-hard Detroit Red Wings fan.
