I became interested in Ham Radio through a close friend. I decided to try the entry level exam, the Technician's Element 2 test. I found the information surprisingly very interesting and passed it with flying colors! I recently passed my General Exam @ AES Superfest in Milwaukee. HF...and I am running a Yaesu FT-857D in my truck with an ATAS 120. I also have a Yaesu VX-8R portable equiped with APRS.
I am a retired 4th grade teacher from NW Michigan, USA. I was a tech mentor in my building. I taught 29 years. My favorite things to do walking my dog, taking evening walks with my husband, exploring technology, cross country skiing, kayaking,photography,a little golf,working on web and hanging out with my rescued dog, Eddy.
I am currently set up with Echolink for distant 2m net check ins via my computer or my iPhone. Last spring I was able to haveI a local members of our county Amateur Radio Club come into my classroom and make a pitch or presentation to my classroom. My next endeavor is took get certified in ARES & RACES..
